Multi-Rater Assessments
Leadership Effectiveness Analysis
Although we have a variety of assessment instruments available to us, we primarily use the on-line Leadership Effectiveness Analysis (LEA) from Management Research Group (MRG), a global leadership research and development organization. This reliable and validated instrument is available in several languages and the results can be normed against country-specific data.
The LEA measures perceptions of core leadership practices and behaviors on 22 leadership dimensions grouped under six key focus areas: Vision, Followership, Implementing the Vision, Following Through, Achieving Results, and Team Playing. The instrument's accompanying Leadership Impact Report measures an additional 26 leadership success factors grouped under nine impact categories: Organizational Impact, Credibility with Management, Credibility with Peers and Direct Reports, Business Knowledge, Cognitive Skills, Taking Charge, Social Skills, Working with Others, and Managerial Impact. The results of the Leadership Impact Report tie back to the Leadership Practices Report for individual development planning. The 360 may be customized to include open-ended questions that allow raters to comment on the observed strengths and development areas of each leader.
Live Interview 360
The 360 interview assessment consists of meetings with a select group of the leader's business partners. Data on strengths and developmental areas from these in-depth interviews are sorted thematically and developed into a coaching report which becomes the baseline for the leadership development plan. This 360 is highly recommended for leaders at the executive level, but is appropriate for selected leaders at any level where this type of detailed input is required.
Voices® 360
Voices® is from Lominger International, a Korn-Ferry Company and is an on-line competency-based multi-rater instrument from Lominger's Leadership Architect® library of 86 of the most common leadership development needs -- 67 leadership competencies and characteristics that are consistently related to leadership success, and 19 career stallers and stoppers. Voices® also includes 7 international focus areas, a must-have for individuals working in global organizations. We can administer Lominger's Development Tracker™ mini survey 6 to 9 months after Voices® 360 feedback to track bottom-line impact of development initiatives. Voices is for leaders at any level whether or not they are managing others.
Emotional and Social Competence Inventory™
The ESCI is from the Hay Group, a global leadership development organization. Emotionally and socially-intelligent leaders are known to get top results from themselves and others. The on-line ECI provides invaluable data on 18 emotional and social competence areas under four clusters: Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness and Relationship Management. The ECI and is based on the well-known research of Daniel Goleman and Richard Boyatzis. Together, individually, and with Annie McKee, they have produced three Harvard Business Review articles and two books on the topic. The ECI is for leaders at any level whether or not they are managing others.
